Bromley Homeseekers

Welcome to Bromley Homeseekers

Please note: bidding each week will open at 6pm on Wednesday.

We hope that you find the site informative and easy to use. As with any new system we understand that there may be problems in the early stages and we will deal with any issues that arise as quickly as possible. As the weeks and months progress you will find that the information held here continues to be improved and added to and this will help you to make realistic choices in understanding what Bromley Homeseekers might be able to do for you. The housing solutions team, as well as housing association, library and voluntary sector colleagues are here to help you adjust to the changes. However, as this is a new system we will be answering lots of calls and queries so may be very busy in the first couple of weeks.

What is Bromley Homeseekers?

Instead of people being 'offered' accommodation, Bromley Homeseekers will advertise properties on a website each week. It has been used successfully by many other local authorities and is designed to give more choice to people who are in housing need. If you want to be considered for any of the homes, you will need to register with Bromley Homeseekers by completing our self assessment and online registration form which will be available soon.  Once you are registered and if you meet the criteria, then you can apply for housing. We call this making a 'bid'. You can 'bid' for the property you choose either online, by text or by phone. Each property will then be allocated to the person or family with the highest need. Once the property has been let, Bromley Homeseekers will publicise how long the successful applicant had been waiting and what banding they had. This is to help you make realistic decisions about the homes you apply for and the options you pursue.

How do I use Bromley Homeseekers?

If you aren’t registered with us you will be able to view the properties that are available as well as look at the results of previous allocations. You’ll also be able to look at the housing options we provide. If you aren’t registered but would like to use Bromley Homeseekers and think that you have a housing need you will need to complete the online Self Assessment. This will give you a predicted banding and will indicate how likely you are to be successful through Bromley Homeseekers. If you still wish to register you would need to complete a full online application. This will be available soon and if you leave your details on the self assessment we will contact you as soon as the full online application is ready for you to use. If you are registered with us you will have received a Homeseekers Pack telling you how to use the system and giving you details of your login information. You will be able to use the site to view and bid on the properties that are available as well as look at the results of previous allocations. You’ll be able to see the options that may be available and suitable for you.
